We have had plans to deliver 3 new logistics units at Knowsley Park in Merseyside approved by the local authority. The proposals will result in a significant employment boost to the area and establish the site as Merseyside’s premium ‘mid-box’ logistics scheme.
The site is an extension to Knowsley Industrial Estate prominently situated off the East Lancs Road (A580) Knowsley, which is less than one mile of junction 4 of the M57 and less than 7 miles of junction 6 of the M62.
The industrial estate is currently home to major organisations including Amazon, Matalan and Kammac, making it an ideal location for a range of occupiers and supply-chain organisations. The prominent location sees Manchester and Liverpool within a 45- and 20-minute drive respectively, whilst attracting local, regional, and national business.
The proposed scheme will provide a total of 157,500 sq ft of much needed logistics space across 3 units. ESG and sustainability are an area of increased focus for the groups pipeline of residential and industrial projects therefore these will all be constructed to a BREEAM excellent standard with electric vehicle charging points, air source heat pumps and PV panels installed as some of the onsite sustainable measures. The site will also provide substantial landscaping with a significant biodiversity net gain.
The site provides high quality employment opportunities in manufacturing for those living in the immediate catchment zone of the scheme. The extension will also provide additional employment in transportation and storage, of which is a growing space for employment in the North West.
