At our SOYO, Leeds development we’re proud to be creating more than just buildings – we’re shaping a vibrant, connected community in the heart of the city

From the beginning, we’ve worked closely with Leeds City Council and collaborated with key partners to ensure SOYO reflects the evolving needs of our community. Highlights like our Light Night Leeds showcase, featuring the interactive art piece Valkyrie, and The Arch, a temporary installation by artist-in-residence EV Hardaker, illustrate our commitment to making SOYO a unique cultural destination for all its surrounding communities.

Our Associate Director, Hollie Shackleton, recently shared our vision for the city and its communities in The Yorkshire Post, saying, “The most successful placemaking starts with understanding that spaces are living entities.” This belief is the foundation of partnerships like our decade-long collaboration with Leeds Playhouse, as well as recent installations such as Ribbons—a sculpture by artist Pippa Hale at the gateway to SOYO that celebrates 400 remarkable women of Leeds.

As we complete the final phases of SOYO, we’re excited to continue delivering meaningful, culturally rich experiences for the community. Together, we’re transforming Quarry Hill into a space where art, culture, and everyday life come together – making SOYO a truly inclusive and inspiring part of Leeds.
