We were proud to support this year’s Leeds International Festival of Ideas at our SOYO Leeds development. Hosted by Leeds BID, the annual festival champions inclusive voices, dynamic debates, and headline-making speakers. This year, it returned to Leeds Playhouse- a neighbour and long-standing partner we’ve proudly worked with for over a decade
We were delighted to host the official LIFI launch event at Moda, New York Square, bringing together speakers, partners, and guests to kick off the festival in style. Our ongoing collaboration with LeedsBID continues to strengthen SOYO’s role as a vibrant cultural destination in the heart of Leeds.
We’re also pleased that SOYO is now part of the LeedsBID 2025-2030 extended boundary, enabling enhanced street cleaning, safety, and security for everyone who lives, works, and plays here.
This summer, we’ve continued our commitment to inclusive placemaking by celebrating culture, creativity, and wellbeing through initiatives such as:
👉 Mental Health Awareness – SOYO proudly hosted ‘Inspire to Inspire’, a free exhibition, spotlighting the powerful life and work of artist Joshua Van Leader, prompting open conversations about mental health and suicide prevention.
👉 Leeds Pride – Proud sponsors of the celebration, and launchers of the Pop-Up Park: a green, inclusive space for the community to relax and connect.
👉 Resident Wellbeing Weekend – Offering free yoga sessions with RYDE Studios and supporting Maughans Bakery, a new local independent business set to open in the neighbourhood soon.
What’s next at SOYO?
We’re thrilled to once again support Light Night Leeds, an initiative we’ve proudly partnered on with Leeds City Council for several years. Join us this Wednesday and Thursday evening as we illuminate the SOYO Zone with a series of sculptures – find out more here: https://lnkd.in/e2SqadZa
