We have secured approval to bring forward phase two of a new employment hub at Farington Park, Leyland.
Phase two, which was approved by South Ribble Borough Council, will generate more than 170 jobs once completed.
Following on from the completion and letting success of phase one, up to 1,800 jobs will now be created across the whole scheme.
We have invested more than £500,000 into improving the circular footpath and cycleway adjacent to the scheme, known as the Leyland Loop.
In addition, Farington Park has benefitted from the installation of an outdoor gym, the creation of a seven-acre ecological area featuring extensive planting, and the creation of new habitats for local wildlife.
An ESG driven site specification is in place which includes BREEAM Excellent standards, EPC A, sustainable heating, shower facilities, bike storage, drying rooms, PV enabled roofs, EV charging points and green walking routes throughout the site.
Located on land at the south of the Lancashire Business Park, the design of Farington Park Phase 2 includes four mid-box units, totalling 96,000 sq ft.
Tom Park, associate director at Caddick Developments said: “With its perfect location and high-quality design, this development is set to attract businesses regionally and nationally, and in turn provide a welcome boost to local employment, adding another dimension to our now completed Phase I scheme.”
Sam Royle, a partner at Knight Frank, added: “Having secured a letting on Phase I during construction, our attention now turns to the remaining land, and Phase 2 of Farington Park, Leyland, which we are delighted to be marketing on behalf of Caddick Developments.
“This second phase of development has been tailored to address the acute lack of mid-box supply in the locality and is in response to the continued high levels of demand we are seeing from the local and regional SME market.”
Cushman and Wakefield partner Rob Taylor said: “The strength of the location is underpinned by the 544,000 sq ft letting of Phase 1 to Victorian Plumbing and we have no doubt that Phase II will be equally as successful.
“The quality of building that Caddick Developments deliver is well-known throughout the market and this will ensure we secure early interest in the scheme. The site is within one of the region’s best business parks, providing jobs and environment improvement for the area alongside excellent transport links.”
