We are thrilled to say that our plans for Farington Park – a new logistics and industrial hub in Farington, Lancashire, have been approved by South Ribble Borough Council planning committee.
The 40-acre site is adjacent to Lancashire Business Park and provides excellent transport links to the M6, M61 and M65. Farington Park includes 612,500 sq. ft. of industrial and logistics space, providing flexibility to accommodate businesses of all ranges and sizes.
Upon completion, we expect over 1,000 jobs to be created, with a further 460 positions made available in the supply chain and a further 280 jobs to be created during the construction phase.
We are confident the development will provide a significant economic boost to the region, and will help the local community by sustaining green space and improving local footpaths and cycleways throughout.
We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Together Housing on Ferrars Road, an affordable homes project that’s employing the diverse skills of the different companies that form Caddick Group.
The £11.5 million development will deliver a mix of 93 new homes for Sheffield, comprising 19 two-bedroom houses, 70 three-bedroom houses and 4 four-bedroom houses. The project was made possible thanks to funding from Homes England. Together Housing were announced as one of the government’s housing agency strategic partners back in 2019 and are receiving £53 million to help deliver 1,152 additional affordable home starts by March 2022.
We are looking forward to working together as an entire group and demonstrating the benefits of Caddick Land, Caddick Developments & Caddick Construction as an overall team – from sourcing the land, to the completion of the new homes. We can’t wait for construction to commence work in early 2021, and we expect the first homes to be ready for tenants from 2022.
We’ve been so excited for the launch of ‘Together Again’ – a new temporary installation located in Playhouse Square at our SOYO site in Leeds, designed by Emma Hardaker and Jameson Rogan.
With the help of Leeds City Centre Management, we’ve commissioned the festive installation for the prime spot between Leeds Playhouse and Leeds City College, which forms the gateway to our SOYO project. Both Emma and Jameson’s work is typically graphic in style and takes reference from mid-century design, pattern and type.
They were inspired by traditional Christmas wrapping paper patterns and decided to use the tag line ‘Together Again’, as they felt it was a sentiment shared by all this Christmas! Emma’s work can also be seen across the city a series of banners on Regent Street and for MAPP charity in Mabgate.
2020 has brought challenges that nobody could predict and it’s a huge thank you to our stakeholders, neighbours and the hundreds of Caddick Group team members onsite – that work has progressed safely and efficiently at SOYO.
We are thrilled to share the progress we’ve made on the £300 million SOYO project. December marks 1 year since work commenced, and we want to thank the entire team who continued working safely and efficiently throughout. A combination of the Caddick Developments, Caddick Construction and Moda Living teams have ensured that Phase 1 is still on track for completion in 2022 despite the uncertainty of this year.
The aim has always been to create a neighbourhood that cares about the wider-community – especially by supporting local businesses, creating jobs and encouraging local charitable initiatives.
Prior to lockdown we invited Level 3 Built Environment students from Leeds College of Building to see the development, and also spoke with pupils of all ages at schools around the city. It’s important for us to show the future generation of opportunities that are available in the construction and development industries.
We are thrilled to have submitted planning for our new project – Leeds Valley Park. The site will include a large industrial and logistics hub, including 6 medium to large units with associated external provisions. These include service yards, car parking and plenty of landscaping to help set the development into its surroundings.
With extensive experience developing similar projects, we are confident that Leeds Valley Park is the perfect location for a new logistics hub. The site is conveniently located between J44 of the M1 and J7 of the M621, and only a 15-minute drive from Leeds city centre.
We are confident this will provide a huge boost to the local economy and create up to 500 new jobs. Work is expected to commence on site approximately July 2021.

The site is conveniently located on the transport network, a few minutes’ drive from the M6, M65 & M61 motorways, and adjacent to Lancashire Business Park. Units will be available from 30,000 sq. ft – 500,000 sq. ft and ideally suited to logistics, distribution and manufacturing occupiers.
With over 40 years’ experience in developing commercial projects, we are proud to have a track record in redeveloping sites such as this and are confident that it will be beneficial for the whole community. The project is expected to create approximately 830 full-time jobs after completion and around 420 full-time jobs during construction.
In the midst of the Covid crisis we’re happy to report that Leeds Playhouse are continuing to win awards, both for their fantastically refurbished building as well as their brilliant creative output.
In 2020 we were due to launch our joint Families Partner initiative, so this latest award– best age friendly cultural organisation – is great news.
This summer, with venues up and down the country still forced to shut, we’re proud to shout about our continued support for this Yorkshire arts powerhouse. We’re looking forward to a time when we can work together to do this initiative justice.
We are pleased to say that SOYO recently collaborated with Leeds City Council on their Street Stories Project.
Led by Found Fiction, Street Stories is a street literature project which celebrated Quarry Hill voices past, present and future. As part of Street Stories, a team of Leeds writers wrote super-short stories which were displayed in public spaces, abandoned areas and prominent venues across Quarry Hill.
A large vinyl was placed at the SOYO site – an exciting way to increase footfall around the local area and inspire the local community.

The awards bring together people and businesses that have designed, developed, funded, built and continue to manage the built environment from all over the region.
